Tanzania offers a variety of different accommodations, most of which we have got to know and tested over the years. Through our wealth of experience, we have made a handpicked selection of camps, lodges and beach hotels that we recommend to our guests. We know all the accommodations that we offer and recommend personally and visit them at regular intervals. We maintain long-standing partnerships and friendly relationships with the managers or owners of each camp, lodge and beach hotel. This enables us to respond to your wishes in a very targeted manner and present you with suitable accommodation. On this page you will find all the camps, lodges and beach hotels we recommend.
Accommodation on safari can generally be divided into lodges, tented lodges and tented camps. You can read in the following lines how these differ from each other and what makes the individual accommodations so special
Lodges are often in spectacular locations, built in an African style and offer between 50 and 80 rooms. There are only double rooms (also as single rooms and with an additional bed as triple rooms) with their own shower/toilet. In some cases, two double rooms with a connecting door can be booked as family rooms. In the main building there are lounges, dining room, bar, reception and boutique. Lodges offer comfortable and safe accommodation in the bush, especially for families with small children.
Tented lodges or permanent camps are very similar to lodges but only have between 10 and 20 rooms/tents. Accommodation is in comfortable tents set up on a concrete foundation or wooden platform, often with an additional grass or second tent roof. Each tent has a shower/toilet built directly from concrete or natural stone, running hot and cold water. As in the lodges, the dining room, bar and lounge are solidly built. If you want to get close to nature and still value a lot of comfort, the Tented Lodges or Permanent Camps are the right place for you.
Tented Camps are smaller than tented lodges or permanent camps and consist of 8 to 12 tents. The tents have sewn-in floors or inlaid wooden floors, a private toilet and shower. Meals are served either under the tent or around the campfire.
