Our "classic" itinerary is a very popular tour among Africa newcomers as well as Africa connoisseurs. During the one-week safari with a private driver/guide (also English/German/French/Italian/Spanish-speaking on request) you will visit the large national parks in northern Tanzania. This results in a beautiful arc of suspense, which begins in Tarangire National Park, followed by Lake Manyara and the Serengeti and, with the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, ensures an absolute highlight at the end. A domestic flight then takes you to the beach paradise of Zanzibar, where you spend the second week under palm trees on the white sandy beaches of the spice island.

There are several daily flights from around the world to Tanzania. Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport. After buying your visa and collecting your luggage at the airport, your private driver will be waiting for you at the exit to take you to your accommodation. The drive takes about 45 minutes and is rewarded with a great view of Kilimanjaro right as you leave the airport, should you arrive in the morning.

08:00 Your safari adventure begins today with Tarangire National Park. Hundreds of elephants linger around the year along the Tarangire River bed, constantly searching for veins of water, while wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, gazelles and predatory cats crowd the few waterholes. Tarangire holds the title of having the largest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem. Known for its bizarre baobab trees and famous for its large herds of elephants, Tarangire National Park is a jewel among East African national parks. At noon, you will rest in the park and consume a box lunch prepared by your lodge. Around 18:00 you will reach your accommodation for tonight, where after a refreshing shower you can enjoy the view from the bar.

09:00 You leave Tarangire National Park towards Manyara National Park. Completely different from Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park impresses with its water birds and many different animal species. The park also offers a very different picture in terms of landscape thanks to its large dark forest and the lake. The main attraction of the park are the rare 'tree lions', which animal experts disagree on why they 'escape' to trees.
Like the day before, you will have a picnic lunch in the park today. In the late afternoon you leave the park and head up past the Great Rift Valley towards the Ngorongoro Highlands, where your accommodation for the day is located.

08:00 Drive to famous Serengeti, passing halfway by the Ngorongoro Crater, which you can admire on the right side from the crater rim if the clouds are not in your way. After the crater rim, it goes downhill into the seemingly endless savannah, which the Maasai once called "Siringit" and which translates to "wide, endless land". You dive into one of "the" national parks on our planet. Its great variety of animals, the unique plains landscape and last but not least the more than 2 million wildebeest and zebra make Serengeti National Park the centerpiece of your safari. Lunch will be taken as a lunch box during the safari to be as flexible as possible. As on the previous days, you will finally return to your accommodation around 18:00.

06:30 We recommend that you go on an early morning game drive. You experience literally how the savannah wakes up and you may even witness a "kill" or see how an entire pride of lions eat the animal killed in the night. Around 09:00 return to the lodge/camp and have breakfast. This is followed by a full day game drive where your driver/guide will take you to where the most interesting animals can be seen. After breakfast you will drive through the Serengeti and head into the southern part of the national park.
A camp-prepared lunch box is your lunch again today at a beautiful site in the South Serengeti.
Around 15:00 you leave the park and drive back up to the Ngorongoro crater rim. The evening ends in your lodge, where, depending on the accommodation, you have a breathtaking view down into the crater.

08:00 Today's journey takes you into Ngorongoro Crater. German zoologist Bernhard Grzimek called it the eighth wonder of the world. At 08:00 drive back to Arusha to the airport where you will say goodbye to your driver/guide as this is where you will part ways for your flight to Zanzibar.
