Beho Beho is a luxury camp in the central north-west of the former Selous Game Reserve. Beho Beho translates to “The Explorer” and prides itself on being the first camp in the northern part of the Selous. The camp is situated on a hilltop with breathtaking views of the Rufiji River area just a few kilometers from the tomb of its namesake, Frederick Courteney Selous. Beho Beho has eight spacious, luxurious bandas (made of stone walls covered with a thatched roof) equipped with every comfort and a tasteful colonial safari-style furnished main building, which houses a lounge, bar and restaurant. Here you will be spoiled with excellent cuisine and an extensive range of drinks and wines. The special thing about Beho Beho is that you dine at a different place in the camp every night and you have to stay at least three nights. This is also highly recommended to fully enjoy the unique experience that the camp offers you. During the day, like all other camps in Nyerere National Park, there are the usual activities such as game drives, walking safaris and boat trips. However, these activities at Beho Beho are carried out at the highest level. The camp's head guide is Sean Lues, a Zimbabwean who is happy to share his vast knowledge of the African wilderness with you on safari. On a morning boat safari, you will be taken to an island where a waiter and cook will await you with a breakfast table set just for you. These and many more unique Beho Beho specials make a visit here the best possible safari experience you can have in Tanzania.

Roho ya Selous lies in the heart of Nyerere National Park (formerly The Selous), a stone's throw from a palm-fringed tributary of the Rufiji River in Tanzania. In the heart of Nyerere National Park - Africa's largest reserve - lies Roho ya Selous in perfect location for excellent game viewing near a major waterway linking Lake Manze to Lake Nzerakera. Hippos roam here and ospreys scan the landscape from their perches. Giraffes walk through the camp on their way to the water and impalas graze near our tents. Relax in the open canvas covered dining or lounge areas while reading a book or look out for wildlife around the lake. Take a dip in the pool in the afternoon to cool off. In the evening, gather with other guests around the campfire and share safari stories before enjoying dinner amidst the sounds of the bush.

Sand Rivers Selous is one of the best, but also one of the most expensive places to stay in Nyerere National Park. After your arrival, a small covered path leads down to the banks of the Rufiji River, which makes a huge bend at this point and places the luxury lodge in a unique place. The main building of the lodge is slightly elevated right on the shore - it includes a lounge and bar area with a view of the river and one step up the restaurant and a small terrace with the same panorama. An eye-catcher in the bar is the long, sloping tree that was concreted into the inner wall of the lounge and still continues to grow - an element that beautifully embodies the style of the lodge, as a lot of wood was paired with stone when building the Sand River. Next to the main building, a natural stone swimming pool meanders along the cozy wooden terrace and is also the only area where you can receive WiFi with your laptop or mobile phone. Sand Rivers Selous has just eight stone bungalows with thatched roofs that are open to the sides. In addition to the expected privacy, you also have enough space to make yourself comfortable in the bright and very tastefully furnished bedroom. Each room has a beautiful view of the river and was built so that the available natural light and the wind blowing on the bank constantly flood your room with light and air. The eight rooms consist of five Riverside Rooms, each with its own luxurious bathroom, and three Hillside Suites, which are also equipped with a large living area and a small pool.

Selous Impala Camp is located directly on the Rufiji River, has nine tents (two of which are family tents) erected on wooden platforms, a large living area covered by huge roofs, a restaurant, a cozy bar and a swimming pool. If you are lucky, you will be greeted by the camp elephant upon arrival. The very well trained guides accompany the guests in their open off-road vehicles, during the boat safaris and on the walking safaris. These activities are included in the camp price. For an extra fee you can go fishing from a sandbank. The food is very good, varied and - depending on the weather - served at different places. In the evening, the guests gather around the campfire with the camp manager to report on the day's experiences. Each of the tents has every imaginable comfort, from comfortable beds to a toilet and a beautiful solar heated shower. A generator provides electricity so that you can charge cameras and mobile phones in your tents. Selous Impala Camp has been one of our personal favorite places to stay in the Selous for years, as it still offers very good money for value.

Siwandu Selous is located in the northern section of the former Selous Game Reserve. The camp is sheltered in a commanding position in a mixed forest on the shores of Lake Nzerakera, which is part of the Rufiji River arms. Siwandu makes an excellent base for experiencing the great scenery and diverse wildlife of the park. Siwandu is split into two entirely separate camps referred to as North and South Camps. Depending on the number of guests, one or both camps are used, so that each camp can always retain its intimate and sophisticated character. North Camp with six tents and South Camp with seven tents each have their own lounge, dining area and bar. Of course, each camp has its own kitchen where the chefs prepare the meals. A good selection of wines is available with meals. Each camp has its own host, guides, swimming pool, safari vehicles and boat excursion dock. The spacious, octagonal and tastefully decorated tents are set on slightly raised decks along the shores of Lake Nzerakera. The tents are protected against mosquitoes but do not have mosquito nets over the beds. The tents are under a protective thatched roof so that the air can circulate freely. Each tent is furnished with a king-size bed, a table, wardrobe and a safe, as well as a ceiling fan; however, there is no air conditioning. The shower water in the attached bathroom is heated with solar energy.
