National Parks Arusha, Tarangire, Manyara and
Ngorongoro in six nights

Our safari itinerary DUMA is especially designed for families. No matter with how many children, for young and old, DUMA has the ideal combination between three national parks and overnighting in only three different lodges for the six nights. You stay twice in the same accommodation, which makes the itinerary very smooth compared to other tour suggestions and allows you more time in the respective parks. All camps and lodges also have quadruple or connecting rooms.

All safari itineraries can of course be individually adapted or changed to your wishes - you have full flexibility in your travel planning with ITST!

Perfectly organized:Your private safari

DAY 1

Day of arrival

There are several daily flight connections from around the world to Tanzania.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport, you are picked up and driven approximately 40 minutes to Arumeru River Lodge. There you will find a lodge with a very spacious, park-like garden, in which small antelopes and a variety of birds can be found. The large swimming pool is a wonderful place to relax after the exertions of the journey. If you arrive early in the morning or around midday, a guided walk to the nearby rainforest can be organised.

DAY 2

Arusha National Park

Today you visit the nearby Arusha National Park, which offers you an insight of the various landscapes one encounters in Tanzania on a small scale. Here you can see the rare black and white colobus monkeys and meet the highest density of giraffes in Tanzania. Have a picnic by the Momella Lakes and watch hippos and other animals coming to drink. A short hike to the Ngurdoto crater reveals large herds of buffalo on the crater floor. In the afternoon you return to Arumeru River Lodge and can relax at the swimming pool.

DAY 3

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast you will leave Arumeru River Lodge and drive to Tarangire National Park. The park is known for its herds of elephants and the massive baobab trees that soar into the sky in a variety of shapes. After a picnic lunch at a scenic site, head out to see more interesting animals. In the evening you arrive at Maramboi Tented Lodge. This tented lodge is just outside the park boundary, but offers one or two highlights when a wide variety of animals pass by the terrace of your tented room. The family tents are large, stand on a wooden platform and, in addition to the terrace with chairs, also have a bathroom with shower and toilet.

DAY 4

Tarangire National Park

08:00 Today you enjoy a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park, which is also very varied in terms of landscape. You will advance to other areas and also have a chance to see one of the elusive leopards. Here you will find antelopes and gazelles as well as kudu. A leisurely picnic in the shade again defines the half-time of the day. Many children in Tanzania have started to keep a diary or an animal list during their "breaks". Take pens, glue and scissors with you, and create wonderful pages from brochures you can pick up in lodges or at the park gates. In the afternoon, you will set off again to explore the wildlife before you return to Maramboi Tented Lodge for the last time.

DAY 5

Lake Manyara National Park

08:00 Continue to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is 90 percent water and 10 percent land densely populated with animals. In addition to numerous water birds such as pelicans, flamingos, herons and many more, you can also see monkey species, with the constantly fighting baboons and monkeys. Hippos wallow in their pools, suddenly getting into a loud roar and then calming down again. With a bit of luck you will find the tree lions that are mainly found in Manyara. Today you will have your picnic at the lake. In the afternoon leave the park behind and drive into the Ngorongoro Highlands to Karatu Country Lodge, lovingly run by a local chef. In the swimming pool you can relax before you sit down at the table and enjoy the lodge's excellent cuisine.

DAY 6

Ngorongoro Crater

08:00 Today visit Ngorongoro Crater. For centuries, lions, buffalo, rhinos, elephants, zebras and many more have lived in this huge amphitheater, which is about 21 kilometers in diameter, virtually cut off from the outside world as most animals cannot climb the 600-meter-high wall surrounding the crater can climb. In this Garden of Eden you will find an inexhaustible number of different animals. At the picnic, your children can continue building on their journal, play a game of frisbee, or simply take in the exciting surroundings. In the late afternoon drive back to Karatu via the steep crater wall.
